We all learn one or other thing from our life… Here are few which i have learned :

1. Be clear in your thoughts

2. There should be a time when your are alone, you get to know yourself better.

3. Never fear in turning your intentions into actions, even if you fail , you will learn something from it.

4. When something undesirable grows in soul, don’t hesitate in asking God for help

5. Do your bit, love people to end bitterness.

6. If you want to tell something to someone, look directly in the eyes.

7. Even if your friend do something against your will, Don’t worry, he will stay your friend.

8. Do not ignore simple things and simple people, they too are capable of achieving great things.

9. When you feel no one cares about you, It’s the worst feeling.

10. Where there is a will, there is a way.

11. If you choose company of fools, no matter, how intelligent you are, you will become one of them.

12. Anything that stops you from understanding the meaning of your life is curse for you.

13. Each of us have different goals to achieve, Don’t push others to follow you.

14. Never think in asking for forgiveness, and never think in forgiving people.

A lesson from Pencil

I was drawing some figures with a pencil and remembered an article I read about comparing humans with pencil. It was such a nice article.. I don’t remember the source now but I remember what the article talked about. The article was about the qualities of a pencil that everyone of us should know and understand.

1. Pencil is used for writing but their is a hand which guides the pencil. Similarly, we are also guided by a supreme power GOD and should always remember that we are guided by the GOD.

2. Every now and then we have to use sharpener because of which pencil might have to suffer but it comes out strong and more sharper. Similarly, we also suffers sometime but we should not get disheartened by that and we must try to come out strong and learn from that mistakes.

3. Pencil allows rubber to erase the mistakes that it commits, Likewise, we should also allow our past to remain past and should not keep crying over the mistakes for rest of our life.

4. The exterior of the pencil be anything but what matters is the inner graphite. So, instead of looking the outer beauty we should understand that if are strong and clean from inside that matters in our life.

5. Pencil leaves it mark on the paper for ever. Similarly, we should also strave for leaving a mark in this world.

The article made me realized quite many things. Hopefully we all can understand it and make due changes in our life. Amen!!!

Is It The End Of Test Match?

The debate whether T20 will eventually kill Test matches is recently fulled by West Indies Captain Chris Gayle when he said test cricket as we know it may soon wither away and he for one would not be saddened if that did happen. His words immediately created a cyclone majorly in the last generation players and the West Indian greats like Gary Sobers, Vivian Richards and English Great Sir Geoffry Boycott who brought glory to the game itself. Though Gayle eventually softened his tone but it is clear that he with many others like him see a greater future for themselves in the Twenty 20 format which is short, snappy and much more rewarding financially than the five day Test match.

In the corner, we have an over 100 year old format in test match which is a sign of maturity of a player as a cricketer. Playing test matches for your country used to instill a sense of proud and achievement. You need to mentally, physically and most importantly technically strong to survive in this format. Test matches has a great history to boost of.. Test matches started some great rivalries that we still cherish like clashes between Australia and England (Ashes test series) has a strong history of more than 100 years. Test matches has produce some of the greats like Sir Don bradmen Jack Hobbs and even Sachin Tendulkar for that matter.

But, looking at the current state of the Test matches, the future seems gloomy.. The pitches either has been so flat that they ensure a minimum of 1000 runs or have so much grass and cracks that even scoring 100 runs like climbing mount Everest which has ended games competitiveness. With no restriction of overs in Test cricket, most teams tend to play safe when they bat first except Australia and India. the Test matches need definite revamp.

On the other corner, we have T20 which is as fast as NFS and improving very fast. There is no safety score in T20 and if teams could score massively in 40 overs in T20, the least expected in a Test match is to score 500 in 125 overs. T20 is fast paced game and is here to stay. It teaches batsman how to pace innings and adapt to situation also providing versatility to the bowlers. At a time when the number of spectators is dwindling due to lack of interest in Test cricket T20 came as respite. A 3 hour game for which you don’t have to become potato couch for the whole day. But still the question remains that whether this fast game will be able to generate that skill and temperament that is required to become a successful cricketer of will it only produce hard hitting reckless short playing players. In the recently concluded IPL we saw that oldies who have established themselves as a legend test cricketers like Hayden gilli and kumble has done exceedingly well coz of their temperament and adaptability as per situation. I feel it’s time to change some conventional methods to make the baap of all formats survive. The onus is on ICC, how they tackle to situation or bring up the quality of test matches is still to be seen. I just hope that game survives without cutting it’s roots.

The last page of register

Quite often we are in class or in a meeting and we get bore…. the last page of our notebook comes to our rescue. This last page is seldom used for anything other then rough calculations, beautiful drawings (not in my case ) and writing our mind out. A creative person jumps out of us everytime we use this page. May it be a poem or a sarcastic comment or just writing simple philosophical lines.. It gives us immense pleasure.. The last page of our register is a reflection of our creativity. It somehow takes out the best or the worse out of us. I feel most of the time when we write something on it.. we don’t realize what we are writing.. but when we read it… Yes!!! we like it to the core …. and it’s a good time pass too… you don’t even realize when the meeting or your class gets over

Changing Times

Huuh…. down the memorylane again .. and was remembering the fun we used to had in college…. Those days were awesome…. be it kabbadi matches or late night cricket… darru parties in jindal’s room to thass session on terraces… from night out in college to the numourous trips across the India… flirting with juniors… to fights over a gals….we had it all… we matured as an individual… become more independent.. and yes found some very good friends too.. The four years spent in college was a learning curve…. those four years left such effect on us that still after two years… In every reunion .. we discuss more about the time spent in college rather then present….

Farewell was no less then a K-serial episode… we danced … we laughed … we drank… and we cried together…. We got so attached to each other that even thinking that we won’t be living together like we used to.. bring tears to our eyes…

After college …. life changed for one and all…. we got so busy in our work that even a phone call to each other takes a month.. thank to all the social networking sites that we somehow keep track of each other… Yes meeting took quite a long time… and somehow time don’t permit you to be your usual self..

I feel sooner we accept the fact better it is for us… Things will change for sure.. for better or for worse… depends upon how we take it… accepting the fact that.. there is a phase which remains engraved into our memories and we cherish it for life… but the life must move on .. As they say “Only thing permanent is Change”

The Art Of Wedding Crash

My friend PJ wrote an article about wedding crashing time of college. I felt to write my feelings on the same topic and here it is..

Wedding crashing is an art that needs lots of practice, dedication and smart work to master and after crashing over 200 weddings I can proudly say that I am grandmaster of it. I would like to mention the name of few worthy others who deserve this crown with me (Hereinafter referred to as Pandu) like PJ, panda (Taujii), Tashty, and DJ who were always ready and dressed for the occasion no matter what are the conditions like final exam next day, important practical class or even biggest of all India’s Cricket match.

It all started when Panda once got an invitation for a grand marriage of the daughter of the owner of Black Rose kali mehndi. It was a grand affair and he decided to take few of us with him (Thanks dude for the warm up). That, affair gave us unquenchable thirst to attend more of such grand affairs.

We took up many good habits coz of it like we started reading newspaper daily for any news about big Saya (the day when lotsa marriages take place), we get more closer to god (we used to pray for more marriages in nearby areas) and above all it gave us a sense of confidence.

I still remember the day when i crashed the wedding for the very first time.

Day : Tuesday

Venue: Celebration Gardens

Excuse: Mess mein khana acha nahi bana yaar chalo bahar chalte hai .

Partner in Adventure : Pandu, Panda, PJ, Tashty, Gupta, DJ

We reached B-Block from mess and decided to go out.. suddenly someone said.. “chal yaar kisi shaddi mein chalet hai paise nahi hai abhi mere pass”. We didn’t thought twice and dressed for the grand affair:D … we left NSIT on our bikes in search of a Grand Wedding. We found a grand marriage at Celebration Gardens… Phone on our ears we went in “Haan mummy mein paunch gaya aap kahan ho dikh nahi re” Gals standing for our welcome graced us with flower petals.. we touched feet of brides parents “ Nmaste uncle” the Old dude was happy “aao aao beta” and got busy… we ran towards Snack corner and start enjoying every cuisine. We saw a Bar with few of the classiest whiskies and with a smile on our face reached for it… It was moment of Proud for us… Our practice has just started. This kept going on and on and we are now Proud grandmasters. I think more than nething else it was the sense of thrill and achievement that made our excursions more enjoyable.

There is an incidence worth mentioning.. and I will paste a copyright article from PJ’s BLOG for that with slight changes …

It was last day of end-semester examination and one of my dear friends, Rahul (Guy with the blushing smile in my blog-header pic, fell ill. I, Panda, and Pandu set off along with him to make sure he reaches Gurgaon safely where his parents were waiting to take him Faridabad, their home.

Uncle said – “So nice of you guys that you came till here to see Rahul off”. We all smiled. We knew we came so that we could crash in some wedding parties around.

Anyways, that night was one of the longest times spent to find our target. As from our previous experiences we ignored low key affairs and looked for the “Grand Arrangement”.

We were very tired, thinking the bike we borrowed from one of our seniors, Tiwari, had drunk petrol worth of more than our one time lavish meal at Chawla’s. Disappointed we were about to return, when we saw firecrackers soaring in the sky about 2 kms ahead. Our eyes lit up. Both Pandu and I vroomed our bikes and reached the venue. Wow “Sabr ka phal meetha hi hota hai”, seemed true.

BTW (Bittu tikki Wala) had a dedicated gallery, with about 2 dozens of chat-papdi and other snacks. I was (and am) a teetotaler, but my accomplices had their mouths watering when they saw “Teacher’s” on the open-pub’s racks. Sadly panda couldn’t have much of it, but I guess he gulped one peg. Enough for him. Pandu on the other didn’t need to drive. So tried all the brands he could.

Panda then pointed out towards a tuna fish which was getting grilled and said “!@#$$@!$ itti badi macchi….hic…”. I and Pandu apprised him about it being called a Tuna.

All three were constantly “tadoing” pretty (read sexy) girls. People were looking suspiciously to us as it was a family affair I think.. but the way we behaved with smile on our faces and greeting everyone was the state of art work and can be handled by experts only and then people become friendly. We moved about confidently discussing about our respective businesses.

After our stomachs-full and late in night we drove back to hostel. Returned one of the bikes to its owner….Panda said – “MAJAA AA GAYA KHANA KHAKE”, the famous dialogue in “Matrubhumi”. We IMAOed (laughed hard and continuously) and then went to sleep.

Friendship

It is said that friendship is the only relation that we get to choose .. so we should be very careful in choosing it… With time comes matuarity and level of making decisions.. but still when it comes to friendship.. generally the one who survives till last are those who become friends at a very young age… I have seen and experienced that often the friendship after a certain age always have some or other motive in the very roots of it… and generally don’t last that long… So what do you think…Does age affect the bonding of our friendship??? Friends that i made during school and early part of my college are still closest to me… Is it true that time spend together is directly propotional to the bonding?? I feel that somewhere it affects our friendship… My personal experience shows that the less you spend time and less conversation.. weaker your friendship becomes… yes good friends will always care for you.. will wish you on your birthday and stuff but somehow the zing in that gets lost… may be it’s not true for everyone… I will end by saying again that be careful in choosing your friends and be true to them.. time will test your bonding… I hope i will pass it with Flyying colors.. Amen!!!!

Time to Change….

Hmmm. it’s been long living the same monotonous life.. yuck… i have decided to change few things in my life.. most importantly.. i will try to have more fun alone… w/o looking for company… all ALONE… being dependent on others sometimes takes away even the slightest chance of happiness…. Studies again… pheew!!! this thing i have been doing for quite a long now but yeah.. it’s an important part… so this will carry on… few things need to take back seat now like TV.. and most probably will be taken over by a normal walk… I wil again start talking to god and discuss things with him.. as i used to do.. reading will be part of my schedule again… i think last book i read was about 2 months back…. less consultaion and less advices… everyone have mind of their own.. i will not give my prized advice to everyone from now on … Music and dancing is on list too… Bought a new cam so learning basics of photography is one thing i really want to do… i can’t remeber last time i played cricket.. may be sometime during college last year… i will buy a new bat.. either of my favourite SG or Reebok… list will change as per priorties and time.. but things will change for sure… and for betterment!!!! AMEN!!!!

GULAL

Anurag kashyap one of the prolific filmmakers in contemporary Hindi cinema has yet again proved his brilliance in Gulal. After dishing out movies like satya, shool, Black friday and DEV D has once again done superb job with gulal.

The songs are spot on. Piyush mishra has wrote a fine piece of indian poetry. The rendition by Mishra himself is mind numbingly impressive. It will not be justified to name one song when in fact, every song is superlative. Well, that and the parody of “Sarfaroshi ki Tamanna”. Other than that, the two renditions by Rekha Bharadwaj “Ranaji” and “Beedo” just took me away.

the movie is a collaboration of anarchy, extremism and what not under the banner of democracy. It’s a show of how a rajput Duki bana (Kay Kay Menon) uses college politics for the creation of rajputana. I have always been a fan of Menon’s acting but boy he is not alone here piyush mishra (Prithvi Bana) has done some serious work with his acting too and Deepak dobriyal (Bhatti) has given a cracker of a scene where he just acts with his face without speaking a word and that was one of the best acted scenes in a movie filled with 100 extraordinary frames. Abhimanyu Singh (Ransa) has proven his acting brilliance yet again. Camara work is superb.. Play of light for metaphorical depictions. The camera angles. Splendid. More specifically, the first scene of the movie was breathtaking. Anurag has shown us that there can be transcending Hindi Cinema. There are many people who object to the use of expletives and obscenities and in fact, judge the whole movie unseeable based on that. I don’t understand that at all. Plus, I think that is a sign of imbecility. When a person is trying to create a situation, and trying it to do as well as he can, he has to use every possible device.

I stand and give an ovation to this piece of dedicated brilliance. I enjoyed every bit. There may have been flaws in the movie, I do not deny that but they are almost invisible. I ignored them. In the end i will leave you with the brilliant parody of bismil’s poem Sarfaroshi ki tammana…

Sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab hamare dil me hai
Dekhna hai zor kitna bazu-e-kaatil me hai
